My Sunny Maad

Helena leaves her everyday life in her native Prague to marry her beloved classmate Nazir in Kabul. Under the name of Herra, she begins a new phase of her life in an exotic environment. But the road to her dream future is not an easy one. Not everyone has as big a heart as Nazir and as much sense of humour as the head of the family, a progressive and warm grandfather. Herra is searching for her place in the new world when a sensitive boy, Mad, unexpectedly enters her life from the distant mountains. It turns out that happiness can find a person in situations where they would least expect it. Michaela Pavlátová’s film is based on the book Frišta by journalist Petra Procházková.
